My little man is 4.
Four.
Such a big kid now.
We had a dinosaur-themed party with grandparents and our super-nanny JoJo and her super-nanny-husband.
Bugles to put on our fingers as dinoclaws.
Poprocks because they are our new favorite thing. And there were lots of rocks when there were dinosaurs, right?
And JoJo made fossils with the Buzz earlier in the week.
We found an awesome gluten-free cupcake recipe! Thanks, Holli!
This is for all you GFers out there.....
1 1/2 c. rice flour
3/4 c. tapioca flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. xanthum gum
1 1/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
2/3 c. mayonnaise
1 c. milk (I used whole)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
If you're a dairy-free or egg-free family, you could use substitutes for the milk, eggs, and mayo. The original recipe was written with substitutes.
Whisk together the dry ingredients. In a mixer, beat the eggs, sugar and mayo. Add the milk and vanilla. Pour in the dry ingredients and beat well. Pour into cupcake wrappers in muffin tins. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. It made 18 cupcakes.
The youngest AND the oldest at the party loved the poprocks.
I'm telling you, people, poprocks are the fun candy that will unite generations, bring world peace, save the planet, and turn your dreams into plans.
Remote control cars.....making a 4 year olds dreams come true!
I'm realizing now that his shirt has a big 3 on it instead of a 4.
These are the things you never allow to happen when you have only one child. When you have three kiddos, you celebrate that they are just plain wearing a shirt.
JoJo made him a cape! He is absolutely unstoppable now.
River Deacon, you are such a special man. I love the way you talk. And the way you listen intently. And how you get shy when new people look you in the eye. I don't love it that you copy, but I do love it that you pay attention. Always. I've been thinking about how we nearly lost you when I was 12 weeks pregnant and you were the size of a peanut. I saw you kicking on the sono and fell in love with you, so I went on bedrest for awhile until my belly was safe for you again. You grew and you grew and you grew. And you're still growing in front of our eyes. We are so extremely lucky that you are part of our family!!
