Ten

Hello long lost friends, relatives, neighbors, strangers, stalkers!

Sorry to be absent from our blog-home for the last forever.  Summer has taken me by storm and while the days are longer and sincerely more fun, time to do anything but swim, shuffle kids, clean up, work, swim, and swim some more is at a premium.

So here's 10 on the 11th.  See the index for more "Tens".

In the middle of all the swimming, we roadtripped to Canada.  A post is forthcoming on that, but in the meantime, allow me to brag about my new Ikea shelf.  Because what better thing to do when crossing the border than shop?  Geez, Amercans.

Ok, that's only six.  But this couple gets the last three slots all to themselves...

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!  I don't know how many years its been, but I'm feeling like its been a lot because I'm 29 plus a few, and while Mom looks the same, Dad has significantly less hair than in those wedding pictures.

Happy Anniversary, you two.

And happy summer, One and All.  Back soon with a rundown of the good times we had in Canada, I hope.  First, we are going swimming.  Really.

10

I have new camera lenses that I cannot figure out.  Gr.
The photos are imperfect, but the moments are bliss.

10 on the 10th-ish....

My cup overflows....

10 on the 10th

Its not the 10th anymore.  But it was two days ago.

Fact: I am late always.

Life is as full as ever, but I'm somehow managing to keep it simple on my insides.  Lent is in our living, and the Holy is finding us.

My cup runneth over...

10ish

I really wanted to keep up with this 10 in 10 on the 10th thing.  I just can't abide by such specific and demanding rules though. Cannot abide.  So here's 10 from the 12th.

See the TEN chapter on the right column for previous 10s.

This was a Saturday afternoon.  We played Aerosmith's Walk This Way over and over.
Ba-da-da-da-ba-da-da-dum......Ba-da-da-da-ba-da-da-dum....
Just fit the mood.  So play it in your head while you scroll...

Kirstie is our 3rd daughter.  I love how she looks at me over her glasses when we talk.  Such a great kiddo, and she can make butterflies with glitter.  Bonus.

I found this frame at Et Cetera for $1, spray painted it, and put old book pages inside.  My new kitchen whiteboard!

They were working on the new chicken coop.  Our new babies come in a week!  If you look closely, you'll see that Ryan's ass is on fire.  I told you he's a hottie!

Friends, meet Sticky Bacon.
Its like a little love letter to your arteries....."Dear Arteries, you are hard working and oh so healthy.  I'm giving you a little crack cocaine just so you can boast to your friends about what skill you have at withstanding truly whatever slides your way.  You.can.do.it."

(Charlene, this is mostly your recipe)
Line a pan with parchment paper.  Put a cooling rack in the pan and place 1 lb. of bacon in single strips on top.  Bake at 375 for 10 minutes.  Then brush it with this (already blended):
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. apple juice or white wine
2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
Bake for 10 minutes more.  Flip over the bacon an brush that side.  Bake 15 minutes more.
EAT.  Fast.

They worked for 2 hours on this "robot".  It Even had 2 secret compartments in its back.  Now if I could just get it to fold the laundry....

10ish on the 10th-ish...

So continues the "10 Project"!  Go me - keeping it up for 3 months now.

I'm thinking today on
9.11.2001
the ebb and flow of time passing
all that we fit into a day
how my littles are becoming bigs
all that there is left to do
the simple things that I make tricky

and on this cup that keeps running over...

Ten, month 2

9 pictures.  10 hours.  Two days after the 10th.  (Thank you again, Plaid Sheep, for this practice.)

In overwhelming gratitude for this amazing life...
